AIS 5G - ARV extended cooperation to Wangchan Valley, leveraging AI potential. Innovation of an AI Autonomous Drone System on an intelligent 5G network for the first time in Thailand! Connecting industrial work systems in real time

Ongoing collaboration between AIS 5G and PTT Group since 2018 has seen the deployment of 5G and platforms to builddigital infrastructure. This is integrated with operations in Wangchan Valley, developed by PTT as a key base for the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) . The collaboration is working closely with ARV Co., Ltd., a Thai expert in the development and service provision of robotics and AI services, and part of PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP). They have developed a platform of unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, better known as autonomous drones, for various industrial use cases. The use of drones has now been upgraded to a 5G AI Autonomous Drone System (Horrus), which is the first drone system to be developed by Thai engineers. The system is supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance its capabilities. Most importantly, it is the first drone system to be powered by Intelligent 5G using Autonomous Network technology. The Network is managed to be agile with a system to maintain 24-hour security in the Wangchan Valley area. Wangchan Valley is equipped with the infrastructure of a Smart City, under a Regulatory & Innovation Sandbox in four areas: unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous vehicles, energy innovation, and specialized spectra. All of these factors have made Wangchan Valley a prime location for the innovations of the future. It is a transformation of drone capabilities to have a greater role in industry, and reduce the risks ofoperating in hazardous or restricted locations.

GULF, Singtel, and AIS commence the construction of the new 20+ MW data center, which will be operated by GSA Data Center Company Limited (GSA), the joint venture between the three companies. It is poised to be the best-in-class hyperconnected data center with state-of-the-art technologies, a high level of security systems, efficient energy management, and the incorporation of renewable energy to reduce its carbon footprint. The data center will serve the greater demands of enterprises and cloud service providers in Thailand and overseas, in line with the rapid growth of digital infrastructure in the region. The data center is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2025.

AIS unveils Q3/2022 results with a total revenue of 46,234 MB and growth of 9.1% YoY. Remarkable leadership position in multiple aspects with 5G users grew by over 41% QoQ and Fixed Broadband hits 2.1 m subscribers. AIS continuously drives the growth with Cognitive Tech-Co vision.

AIS disclosed its operating results for Q3 of 2022 with a total revenue of 46,234 MB, an increase of 9.1% from last year. 5G users surged 41% from previous quarter and clocked at over 5.5 million subscribers. AIS Fibre maintained its strong growth reaching a customer base of 2.1 million subscribers. The business growth came from post-COVID recovery and the reopening of the country to foreign tourism. However, negative factors remain inherited in the continuous slowed down global economy. With the increased demand for digital infrastructure, AIS expanded the 5G network with the installations of network base stations to support both low and high bandwidth nationwide. AIS remains no. 1 in 5G coverage, reaching 85% of the nationwide population. This is in line with investment plans of 30,000 MB to support increased demands in consumers and businesses, and leveling up Thailand’s digital infrastructure under the vision of Cognitive Tech-Co.

Crane operators can control cranes to lift up and down the containers remotely via 5G network at the Hutchison Ports Thailand in Laem Chabang Port, Sriracha District, Chonburi Province, which is the first successful case of the operator in Thailand and Southeast Asia under the support of the NBTC.
